Validate fails when metadata is imported
- A PDF will be created to show where the errors are to be corrected in ArcCatalog.
- We discussed having the metadata form open with the errors but we elected to skip programming that because fixing metadata in ArcCatalog is not that difficult and the original data record gets corrected too.
Declare Projection Information
- In existing metadata there is projection information. We are going to create a placeholder for that information. (ESRI Tech Support)
- While ESRI software handles projection on the fly well, other GIS software and users need this information. (ESRI Tech Support)
Validate/Save as Draft/Submit Buttons
- Put a copy of those buttons at the top of the form. After you do a "Validate" you have to scroll back down to the bottom to "Submit" the metadata record.
Project Contacts and Help Documents
- Permanent links need to be place on the right side of the site to the project contacts and metadata help documents. (Completed)

I'm working with ESRI Tech Support today to correct the Nebraska FGDC Profile. So if you are trying to commit metadata right now, you are probably seeing a bunch of strange errors. I will post on the blog when it is corrected. The good news is I have already fixed the map portion of the metadata.
ESRI is working on the Profile so I put the old one back in play.

About Metadata
The NebraskaMap Portal uses 'Nebraska FGDC', a custom metadata profile based on the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). The following resources describe what information is needed to successfully create metadata records in the NebraskaMAP Portal.

If you would like to see the progess on the Nebraska Statewide Street Centerline project, we have created a service for you to consume or just view. Go to http://nebraskamap.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/basemap/MapServer and click on ArcMap if you want to view it in ArcMap or on ArcGIS Javascript if you want to view it on your browser.

If you would like to view/use the recently released 2009 FSA Aerial Imagery we have created a service at...
http://nebraskamap.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/2009/MapServer
Be warned though that these are county tiles that are Mr. SID files. So they have collars (black areas beyond the county boundary). Since they are Mr. SID files they have to uncompress on the fly, so this will not work quickly. And the projection is in UTM Zone 14 North.
Finally the imagery is in the QA/QC process, so you may find some mistakes with the imagery.
I am working on removing the collars but I have to review my tech notes on how to do that.
